Privacy Policy

1. Purposes of processing

NCJK processes personal information only for the following purposes and does not use it for anything else.

• Delivering the website: sending pages to your browser and protecting the site against abuse and attacks.
• Visit statistics: understanding which pages are read and in which language, in aggregate.
• Private enquiries: answering privacy, data-rights, security and legal enquiries sent to our email address, verifying the requester where needed, and keeping a record of how each request was handled.

2. Personal information processed

NCJK does not ask for sensitive information or unique identifiers such as a resident registration number. Please do not include them in your email.

NCJK does not knowingly collect the personal information of children under 14.

3. Retention period

• Website access information: NCJK does not store it. It is processed by Cloudflare to deliver and protect the site.
• Visit statistics: according to Cloudflare, unsampled data is kept for 7 days and then aggregated; aggregated statistics are available for the previous 6 months.
• Private enquiries: kept for 1 year after the enquiry is resolved, then destroyed. Where another law requires a longer period, it is kept for that period.

4. Destruction

When the retention period ends or the purpose has been achieved, NCJK destroys the personal information without delay.

• Procedure: emails whose retention period has ended are identified and deleted.
• Method: emails are deleted from the mailbox, including sent items and trash, so they cannot be restored. Any paper copies are shredded.

5. Provision to third parties

NCJK does not provide personal information to third parties.

6. Outsourcing of processing

To run the website and handle email, NCJK entrusts processing to the following companies. All of them process the information outside Korea; details are in section 7.

If the companies or the work entrusted change, NCJK will update this policy without delay.

7. Transfer of personal information overseas

The processing described in section 6 involves the following transfers of personal information outside Korea.

How to refuse, and what happens: you can stop visit statistics by enabling Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser, with no effect on using the site. Website delivery through Cloudflare cannot be refused while using the site. You can choose not to contact us by email; in that case we cannot reply by email.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

The website does not use cookies. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors.

The website stores two small values in your own browser. They are never sent to NCJK.

• ncjk:lang (localStorage): the language you chose, so the site opens in it next time. Kept until you delete it.
• ncjk:continue (sessionStorage): the section you were reading when you switched language, so the new page opens at the same place. Removed when the tab is closed.

You can delete them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings, or avoid them by using a private window.

NCJK does not collect behavioural information for advertising and does not allow third parties to do so on this website.

9. Security measures

• All traffic to the website is encrypted with HTTPS, and browsers are instructed to use HTTPS only (HSTS).
• A Content Security Policy blocks scripts that NCJK has not approved; no advertising or tracking scripts are installed.
• The website collects as little as possible: there are no accounts, forms or cookies.
• Access to the enquiry mailbox is limited to the person handling privacy matters.
• Enquiry emails are deleted when their retention period ends.

10. Your rights and how to exercise them

You may ask NCJK at any time to access, correct, delete or stop processing your personal information, and to withdraw any consent you gave.

Send your request to privacy@ncjk.net. A legal representative or a person you authorise may also make a request on your behalf. NCJK may ask for information needed to confirm that the request comes from you or someone authorised by you, and will respond without delay within the periods set by law.

Your rights may be limited where the law requires the information to be kept or where processing is necessary to protect another person’s rights.

11. Privacy contact

NCJK has designated the following department to handle privacy matters, complaints and requests to access personal information.

General questions about NCJK are answered on our Discord. Please do not post personal information, account details or security vulnerability details there.

12. Remedies

If you need help resolving a privacy dispute or wish to report an infringement, you can contact the following Korean institutions.

13. Changes to this policy

This policy is effective from 2026-10-30. When it changes, NCJK will publish the new version here with its effective date, keep previous versions available, and show significant changes side by side.
